High School Mock Trial
The Regional Coordinators work with scores of volunteers who serve as scoring panelists, courtroom monitors and presiding judges over a packed two-day competition schedule, with multiple rounds running simultaneously in courtrooms throughout the courthouse. The Regional Competition alternates between the Larimer County Justice Center and the historic Weld County Courthouse. Volunteers from the legal community in Northern Colorado turn out for this program each February as a model of collaboration between two very active local bar associations
The Northern Colorado High School Mock Trial Regional Coordinators Committee consists of representatives from LCBA and the Weld County Bar Association who together organize and conduct the annual Northern Colorado Regional Mock Trial Competition. The statewide High School Mock Trial program is sponsored by the Colorado Bar Association’s Office of Public Legal Education. The CBA program invites outstanding high school students to display acting, advocacy and critical thinking skills in the context of a fictional case problem. The top teams at the various Regional Competitions go on to compete at the State Competition.
