The Larimer County Bar Association has been in existence since at least 1910 where it was and still is an important membership to those in the legal community. Over the intervening years the Larimer County Bar Association has grown from just a handful of members to over 470 attorneys. In 1985, the LCBA amended the bylaws to become a non-profit organization and registered with the Secretary of State's office.

Despite all of the changes to our membership and our size, the LCBA has a long history of serving its members by providing opportunities to grow as a professional and in our professionalism. It is the hope that this history page will encourage our members and our community to take pride in all of the hard work that the pioneers put into our community and our profession. David Wood

Mr. David L. Wood, Esq. has been General Counsel of University of Colorado Health since March 2010 and also serves as its Vice President. Mr. Wood served as General Counsel of PVHS until 2008 when he retired from that position. He plays an active role in community affairs, including service as president of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce and the board of directors of First National Bank. His service to Poudre Valley Hospital began in 1976, as a board member for the Poudre Valley Hospital District.

He served on that board for 12 years, including six years as chairman. In 1990, the board appointed him as counsel to the district board. He serves as a Director of University of Colorado Health. He assisted in the creation of the private, nonprofit Poudre Valley Health System in 1994. He has practiced law in Fort Collins since 1962, serving as district attorney for the 8th Judicial District, special assistant attorney general for Colorado, and United States magistrate judge. He is a past president of the Colorado Bar Association. Mr. Wood is an alumnus of the University of Colorado and the CU Law School.

Roger Clark

Roger Clark is a partner at Clark Williams and Matsunaka, LLC in Loveland. In 2005, Mr. Clark was President of the Colorado Bar Association. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1971, and his B.A. from Rice University. He’s held numerous positions of leadership in the Colorado Bar Association, including Chair of the General Practice Section and of the Membership Services Committee, serving on Executive Council and the Board of Governors, and holding the position of Vice President. He was President of the Larimer County Bar Association in 1981 and is a Fellow of the Colorado Bar Foundation and of the American Bar Association. He also served two terms as President of the Colorado Lawyer’s Trust Account Foundation.

Clark’s community involvement includes serving as President of the Loveland Sertoma Club, the Loveland Chamber of Commerce, and Hospice of Larimer County. He was on the Loveland Economic Development Council, and the Board of Directors of the Northern Colorado Economic Development Commission and KRMA Channel Six. He served as the chairperson of the City of Loveland Home Rule Charter Commission in 1995 and is a member of the City’s Visual Arts Commission.
