Young Lawyers Group Meetings
The Larimer County Young Lawyers meet the third Wednesday of every month. If you are interested in their group, please contact Kohl Watson at kohl@haltzmanlaw.com. The YLD hosts monthly happy hours to socialize with colleagues outside of the work environment.
LCBA Trust & Estates Section
There is an informal group of Trust and Estate lawyers called the LCBA Trust & Estates Section. The primary function of the group is to meet four times a year for presentations on trust and estate topics. The group meets a four times a year on the third Wednesday of the months of January, April, July, and October. The meetings are from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the First National Bank in downtown Fort Collins. Any attorney can join! National Adoption Day
This event is always held in November during National Adoption Month.
Adoption proceedings take place all day in the courtroom and following each adoption proceeding, the child and their family & friends are invited to the Party Room to celebrate their special day with music, gifts for the children, entertainment, & photographs.
We are looking for someone with a big heart and a desire to plan and organize our local Adoption Day events. Heidi Whitaker is looking for someone to take the reins for this event.

We are looking for family law attorneys who are willing to learn how to obtain state court orders for children who are in deportation proceedings. We are offering 2 hours of CLE credit to family law attorneys who attend a training and agree to represent at least one child on a pro bono basis in obtaining the SIJS predicate order. Wednesday, February 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM 12:00 PM.
PODER will host a free legal clinic on Sunday, February 23 from 3-5pm to assist immigrant families in drawing up the Powers of Attorney forms they will need. Don’t find yourself wishing you had done more.
The High School Regional Mock Trial is coming up on February 21 and 22 at the Larimer County Justice Center, and we need your help! We need 100+ volunteers to make it happen. Right now, we have less than 60 signed up. Volunteering is open to attorneys, paralegals, and other legal staff. Let’s support these students and their passion for the law!
